Harry Belafonte was perhaps best known as a singer aka King
of Calypso, but he was more than that. A vocal and visible supporter of civil
rights, he was also an actor, and in the case of Odds Against Tomorrow, also a producer, having founded his own
production company, HarBel, which was behind the film.
